Privacy Policy

Munin is built to collect as little as possible — in practice, nothing about you.

What we collect

Nothing. Munin has no account, no sign-up, and no analytics or tracking. We (overcoded) never receive, store, or see your data.

Your data

Everything you create in Munin — your counters, your counts (marks), and anything you add to a mark such as details, notes or a location — is stored on your device. If you're signed into iCloud, it's backed up and synced through your own private iCloud account (provided by Apple), so your data moves between your devices — including your Apple Watch and Munin's widgets — and survives a new phone. This uses Apple's iCloud; nothing is sent to overcoded or any third party. Apple's handling of iCloud data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Location (optional)

Munin only uses your location if a counter has a Location detail — for example Refuel in the Car Care pack, or Lap in Workout & Sports. Counters without one never ask for or use your location.

  • Permission. The first time a location is needed, iOS asks for permission. Munin only asks for access while you're using the app — never in the background.
  • What's stored. When you log a mark with a Location detail, Munin saves the coordinates and a place name with that mark. It's stored like the rest of your data: on your device and, if you use iCloud, in your own private iCloud.
  • Place names and search. To turn coordinates into a readable place name, and to search for an address, Munin uses Apple's location services (Apple Maps). Those requests go to Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy — not to us.
  • overcoded never receives your location.
  • Your choice. You can deny or revoke access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Munin. You can still set a place by searching or picking it on the map, or simply leave it empty. Deleting a mark deletes its location.

No third parties

No third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.

Children

Munin collects no personal data from anyone, including children.
