How is my data stored?
Your counters and counts are stored on your device. If you're signed into iCloud, they also back up and sync through your own private iCloud account, so they move between your devices and survive a new phone.
Is Munin private?
Yes. There's no account, no sign-up, no analytics, and no tracking. overcoded never receives, stores, or sees your data. See the privacy policy for the full picture.
How do I back up my counters?
Sign into iCloud on your iPhone and make sure Munin is allowed to use iCloud (iOS Settings → your name → iCloud, in the list of apps using iCloud). Backup and sync then happen automatically through your own iCloud — nothing is sent to us. You can check the status in Munin under Settings → Storage → iCloud sync. Without iCloud, your data stays local to that device.
Why does Munin ask for my location?
Only if a counter has a Location detail — for example Refuel in the Car Care pack, or Lap in Workout & Sports — so a mark can remember where it happened. Munin asks only while you're using the app, the location is stored with that mark on your device and your own iCloud, and it's never sent to us. Prefer not to share it? Deny the permission: you can still search for a place or pick it on the map, or leave it empty. You can change this any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Munin.
What are details, and how do I add them?
Details are optional values a mark can carry — an amount, a duration, a side, a choice, a mood, a location, or a value Munin calculates for you (like price × litres = total). Open a counter, go to its settings, and add a detail. Your tap still counts instantly; details fill in behind it, and you can edit them on any mark in the history.
A starter pack got new fields — how do I get them?
When a pack you've added gains new fields, Munin shows a small "New fields for …" note inside that pack's group on the home screen, and lists it under Settings → Starter packs. Tap Review, choose which fields to add, and confirm. Munin only ever adds — your names, marks and history stay exactly as they are. Renamed or moved a counter? Munin will ask you to match it once.
Can I count from my Apple Watch, widgets or Siri?
Yes. Install Munin on your Apple Watch from the Watch app on your iPhone; add a Munin widget to your Home or Lock Screen; add the Munin control to Control Center; or assign the Action Button. Siri works too — try "Count Feed in Munin". Munin's Settings → Siri & Shortcuts and Action Button screens show how. Every mark shows a small icon for where it came from.
How do I change the language?
Munin follows your iPhone's language. To set it just for Munin, open the iOS Settings app → Munin → Language, and pick from English, Hungarian, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Polish, or Portuguese (Brazil).
I miscounted — can I fix it?
Yes. You can undo, edit any mark, and backfill past days, so a 3am miscount is easy to set right. You can also copy entries to another counter — their details come along.
Does Munin cost anything or show ads?
Munin is free, with no ads and no tracking. For anything else — including feature requests — just email [email protected].
